About my Work

I’ve been photographing people for more than four decades. A teenager in the 1970’s, I started a summer job as a studio and darkroom assistant, developing film and making prints for my uncle who was a proeminent fashion photographer in Montreal at the time. I would marvel at the beauty of the high-class models walking around the studio, tossing my hair and blowing me kisses. Needless to say I was hooked. The next year I managed to save enough money to buy a used Nikon F3 and started shooting every person who would let me. My uncle let me use his studio during off hours and I gradually learned the secrets of good lighting, developing rapport with the subjects and creating compelling images. I hope you find as much pleasure in looking at them as I had making them.
